Welcome to the Ashby Hill Top Primary School website; we hope you will find it interesting and helpful.

Ashby Hill Top Primary School is situated in the heart of Ashby de la Zouch, a small market town in North West Leicestershire. We pride ourselves on being at the centre of the community, providing a safe, happy, welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors.

At Hill Top we believe in putting the children at the very heart of everything we do. We aim for our curriculum opportunities to be creative, broad and varied so that all children can achieve their best and are motivated to continue their learning beyond their years at Hill Top.

We strive to build strong and purposeful relationships with families. We operate an “open door” policy and we welcome feedback and comments. We also value the support that families give us so that we can work in partnership for the benefit of the children.

The school converted to a standalone academy in September 2012 and on 1st September 2022 Ashby Hill Top joined a Multi Academy Trust, Symphony Learning Trust. This move has enabled the school to keep our unique identity but also provide us with group strength and an opportunity for us to feel part of something ‘bigger’. We share our wealth of expertise within the Trust. 

The Hill Top team are dedicated to providing the children with first-class care and high-quality learning activities and experiences. The supportive ethos within the school enables pupils of all abilities to thrive as they grow and develop.

Hill Top was most recently inspected by OFSTED in April 2024. The inspection was incredibly successful. We were delighted that the inspectors could see our many strengths and we were graded “Outstanding” in all aspects.

What Ofsted said...

The school’s values of ‘believe, thrive, succeed’ are understood by all.
Pupils are deeply proud to be ‘Hill Toppers’. They explain that they all live together well because they accept and value each other. Everyone belongs.
Parents are fulsome in their praise. They say that staff ‘go the extra mile’ to make sure that all pupils feel welcome.
All staff say that ‘children are at the heart’ of everything that they are asked to do.
