Young Voices FAQs
Can I collect my child from the venue?
Due to the sheer volume of people that are all trying to leave the arena at the same time - we have a tried and tested system in place to ensure this goes smoothly. Safely handing over the children to parents who have attended the concert is nearly impossible. I've attended the event many times with other schools and the safest way to ensure that the children return from the concert is to bring the children back to school for hand over.
How many t-shirts do I need to buy?
The t-shirt you buy is for your child to wear during the event. You do not need to purchase any more.
Do I need to buy a ticket for the event?
One of the highlights of the whole process is to see the pride that the children have in their own performance. The concert is a culmination of a long process of hard work and is the highlight of their musical year. This pride is further enhanced when their parents are able to share the experience as part of the audience.
Tickets are available to purchase from school. The 2020 Audience Tickets price is £20 at the Resorts World Arena. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis (best seats go first) and we often sell-out. So order your tickets through school as soon as possible so you don’t miss out!
What happens on the day?
We will leave school at 12.00pm. children will need a packed lunch, a packed tea and plenty to drink!
We will spend the afternoon rehearsing and will have tea and be back in our seats at 6.00pm. Parents need to arrive as early as possible not only so that you can spend some time waving at your child and spotting them in the choir, but also because all arenas have strict security in place that result in longer queues as we get closer to the concert start time. The concert will start at 7:00pm regardless of queues. The concert ends at 9.00pm. We expect to be back at school for collection at 10.00pm.
