Children may have a hot meal served at school or bring a packed lunch from home. Your child will be offered water with their lunch. The cost of a meal is £2.60 per day. Meals need to be paid for through Parent Pay, our online money system.
We have some children in school who suffer from severe allergies to nuts, nut products and sesame seeds, so we ask that parents are vigilant in making sure that children do not bring in any food containing nuts or nut products. If your child has any other dietary needs we will endeavour to help as much as possible. The Government have introduced Universal Infant Free School Meals for EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 children. This means that hot dinners are FREE to these children. Families in receipt of specific monetary benefits from the Government, such as Income Support or Universal Credit, could be entitled to Free School Meals throughout their child’s primary school years. This entitlement also brings additional funding within school to help with their children’s education. Parents are encouraged to apply for this benefit (Pupil Premium Funding) regardless of their child’s age. Details of this scheme are available from the school office. As part of the Healthy School Status and Government scheme, your child will always be offered a piece of fruit during their Foundation Stage year and also when they are in Year 1 and Year 2. KS2 children are encouraged to bring fruit as a snack for morning break. Children who are under five can receive free milk to drink at morning break, please register at www.coolmilk.com. Parents of children older than five who wish to continue having milk can pay for it through the Cool Milk website. At Ashby Hill Top Primary School our school dinners are provided by Coombs Catering and the cost of a dinner is £2.60 per day or £13.00 per week. As a cashless school we use Parent Pay to collect monies for these dinners. Please contact the school office for further information. |
