About us

Ashby Hill Top Primary School is a busy, friendly, lively school attended by children from within and from out of our catchment area.

Most children join our school in the year in which they are five, but some join us later on in their school career and quickly settle into their new school life, making friends and learning routines with help from their new teacher and class mates.

Hill Top is very fortunate to have committed governors as well as talented and caring staff, all of whom want to give children the best possible start in life. We try to provide the best possible education, and also to promote an all round thirst for knowledge in a safe, secure environment where children can have fun and experience many skills that will equip them for both secondary education and later life.

We are very proud of our academic standards but Hill Top is about much more. Our gallery will give you a flavour of the many activities that children at Hill Top will experience: residential trips; Book Days; sporting opportunities; music tuition; fabulous displays show you examples of our work, to name but a few. Our school environment continues to evolve and photos of the school building and playground can also be found on the site. The photos on will change from time to time, so do look again!

In addition to photos of school, the website will enable you to find out more about the staff and governors. Our fabulous “Friends of Hill Top” have a link on this site. “Friends” is the fund raising and social arm of the school and raise fantastic sums of money for the children every year.

I hope that you will save our website on your “favourites” and look at it regularly. We hope it will become a great way for parents and children to find out what’s happening at school.
